zedlabel FASHION FINANCE PROGRAM
The zedlabel Fashion Finance Kickstart Program is a training, mentoring and funding program through which zedlabel fosters the growth of young Zimbabwean fashion designers. Drawing together fashion professionals from various fields, zedlabel facilitates two-months of workshops across the fashion field, from fashion illustration to retail dynamics, fabric and print to costing and brand building to business management. Following this, the designers go through a creative process of sketching, fabric sourcing and sample creation for a ready-to-wear collection. zedlabel provides funding for the designers throughout this period, as well as finance to produce the collection for retail through zedlabel. Unlocking potential and building viable fashion businesses out of design talent is a central part of the zedlabel business.

zedlabel facilitates training programs and workshops as part of our objective to increase knowledge-sharing in the Zimbabwean fashion industry.

internships
zedlabel recruits interns every quarter, with the aim of training and giving experience to young professionals in the fashion industry, particularly in non-traditional fields such as PR, marketing, development and brand management. zedlabel interns assist with the Fashion Finance Kickstart Program, worked on promotion and advertising for zedlabel, assist on set at our product photoshoots and complete office administration tasks.

The designers in the Fashion Finance Kickstart Program produced as part of their graduation collection a range of handbags under the theme Illusion, which were showcased at the Harare International Festival of the Arts (HIFA).
In 2014, zedlabel funded two established Zimbabwean fashion designers to produce ready-to-wear retail collections for the launch of the zedlabel website, under the zedlabel Fashion Finance Accelaration Program.

Fashion Factory
The zedlabel Fashion Factory is a new and fashion-focused co-workspace designed to provide Zimbabwean fashion designers with low-cost workspace from which to design and produce from to grow their businesses. The space accommodates 4 fashion designers, each with an individual work hub containing a cutting table and sewing table, as well as shared use of a large cutting table.
